Criteria for Requesting Activity Support FundingRecipients of support must meet the qualifications in accordance with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) regulations regarding funding support for government or private sectors for the benefit of TAT activities, which include:Must be a person or organization in Thailand
Please submit a letter to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) requesting sponsorship support prior to the first day on which benefits are to be provided to TAT (e.g., advertising/PR media), in accordance with the following conditions:
  • For amounts exceeding 8 million baht: the request must be submitted no less than 120 days prior to the first day the benefits are provided.
  • For amounts not exceeding 8 million baht: the request must be submitted no less than 45 days prior to the first day the benefits are provided.
”The number of days stated above already includes official public holidays.”
The objectives of the activity must align with TAT's policies and strategies for promoting tourism
Requests for support must be addressed only to the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and may be submitted through any of the following three channels: 1. Submit the original official letter by postal mail or deliver it in person. 2. Submit it via email to center@tat.or.th 3. Submit it through the Minister of Tourism and Sports or the Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.The request letter must include the following details:
1. Project or Activity Requesting Sponsorship Funding (Clause 5.1), consisting of:1.1 Name of the project or activity, objectives/targets, procedures, methods of implementation, schedule, venue, and duration of the project or activity.1.2 Details of all expenses for organizing the event as per 5.1(1), and revenue (if any).1.3 Other co-sponsors (if any), along with disclosure of all benefits received that can be calculated as a monetary value.1.4 Benefits that TAT will receive (one or more of the following, per Clause 5.1(4)):(1) The right to display the TAT logo or emblem, including text and images that TAT wishes to publicize, in order to promote the organization's image and promote the tourism market.(2) Benefits derived from the value of publicity media reaching the eyes of the Thai and international public, allowing TAT to participate in the project or activity in order to use the activity information for tourism marketing promotion.(3) Copyright to use images, text, audio, and speech for tourism marketing promotion.(4) Other benefits that can be calculated as a monetary value. Benefits proposed under (4.1) through (4.5) must have their value calculated in monetary terms and/or social value, along with the calculation method. For benefits to be provided before, during, and after the completion of the project or activity, the start and end dates for each benefit item must be specified.2. Event permit or legal authorization documents from relevant authorities.3. Plan or timeline for providing benefits to TAT, in sequential order.4. Environmental and community impact management plan (if any).5. Details demonstrating the overall value for money of the budget used for organizing the event, capable of showing Return on Investment (ROI), which creates benefits for the tourism industry.6. Other relevant documents or evidence beneficial to the consideration of the sponsorship funding (if any).7. The amount of funding requested must be specified.8. Name of the applicant requesting sponsorship funding.9. Documents the applicant must submit to support the request (Clause 5.9), as follows:9.1 Certificate of juristic person registration, not older than 6 months.9.2 Copy of the establishment license or copy of the juristic person registration certificate, together with the taxpayer identification number.9.3 For applicants that are juristic persons: a copy of the national ID card, signed and certified as a true copy, of the authorized director(s) acting on behalf of the juristic person; or9.4 Registration documents proving status as a charitable organization, such as an association registration certificate, a foundation establishment registration certificate, or other similar important documents proving registration as a charitable organization; or9.5 Important documents proving status as a religious organization, such as a temple, mosque, or other place of religious worship; or9.6 Copy of national ID card — in the case of a group of individuals such as a club or committee, attach the formation documents of the club or committee, and specify the name of the authorized representative acting on behalf of the group as the fund recipient, together with a certified true copy of their national ID card, for applicants who are private individuals.
Project evaluation criteria depend on the nature of the project/activity, which should have the following characteristics:
  • Aligned with TAT’s defined budget plan.
  • Objectives consistent with TAT’s strategic plan.
  • Impact on the tourism industry.
TAT reserves the right to approve or decline funding support at its discretion. Applicants have no right to claim or take legal action against TAT. TAT also reserves the right to proportionally reduce the approved funding in cases where the benefits provided to TAT are less than those originally proposed.
